Chapelle-lez-Herlaimont, cité des Tchats

Chapelle-lez-Herlaimont est une commune ayant une vocation mi-urbaine et semi-rurale… Son nom dérive du bas latin «Capella », désignant un édicule religieux alors que Herlaimont vient d’ «Harilon Montem» ou de «Mont de Harilo»… Jusqu’à la révolution française, Chapelle est une terre franche.
