Situated on the Mons-Brussels road and on the railway network linking Brussels to Mons and France, Braine-Le-Comte saw an interesting development of its industrial activities and commercial establishments. the hinterland, made up of picturesque villages (Henripont, Steenkerque, Ronquières, Hennuyères and Petit-Roeulx), large old farms (Salmonsart, Bourbecq, Hosté…) and vast expanses of fields, meadows and woods make it an ideal destination for walks. Since the merger of the communes, the entity includes Ronquières and its unavoidable Plan incliné.
